Big Lake Fishing

Here's Gretchen watching over our poles on the big lake. We decided to take a quick fishing trip after the Deep Six Dive Group summer picnic. The lake was as flat as glass and caught two salmon and enjoyed a tasty dinner at home.

Resurfacing!

A cold and damp spring coupled with some "life" stuff has kept us quiet for the 2011 boating season, but now things are settling down and we are finally getting some summer weather and opportunities for some blog-worthy boating. Here's where we've been so far...

FREMONT: In April, we took a trip to Fremont for a little fishing on the Wolf River. We launched the boat at Chico's Landing and battled the strong river current and wind. With every dock under at least a foot of water, maneuvering the boat was quite a challenge. In spite of it all, and with a little help from the guys at Chico's we had a great time anyway. We didn't catch any fish, but spent some quality time on the boat and enjoyed partying with the guys in the bait shop.

LAKE WINNEBAGO, Memorial Day Weekend & Bethany's 21st Birthday: How cool was it that Bethany wanted to spend her 21st birthday with US? On The Boat!? We were feeling like the "cool" parents for sure and took her and her boyfriend Danno for a camping/boating trip. Once again, the weather didn't cooperate so well, but we managed to make the best of it anyway.
